In Grounded, Sureen plays with light and shadow in her layered, abstract artworks. The artwork's response to the changing light in its environment offers the viewer a unique perspective every time. We adore how the single, earthy colour emphasises the way the shadows move across the piece. 

Grounded is featured in Soft Sand - warm, rich beige.

Sureen's works are hand-painted textured acrylic on wood with raw Tasmanian Oak frame. Each relief is unique, and texture will therefore vary. Use the art as a single piece or play with a combination of different artworks in different colours and display compositions.

The Story Behind it

TOO is an Australian art and design brand by architect-couple, Thomas and Sureen Gouws. TOO rethinks the concept of art and decor in playful and interactive ways. Its aesthetic is characterised by clean architectural lines, simple geometric shapes and bold playful colours. 

Before migrating to Australia in 2018, Thomas and Sureen had their own multi-award winning architecture practice for 17 years, based in Pretoria, South Africa. Their residential work has been widely published both in South Africa and internationally.

When starting TOO in April 2019, they shifted their focus from architecture to art and design. Their architectural roots however greatly influenced their brand's aesthetic and design approach. 

All TOO products are locally designed and manufactured in Melbourne, Australia.
