Leather Coasters - Pack of 4

This pack of four Leather Coasters is made from premium Italian vegetable tanned cowhide - offcuts from I.E. Francis's incredible Loop Pendants.

These elegant 10cm coasters will look great on your dining table or coffee table - and they stack beautifully too! We love the cute little smiley face stamped into the leather.

The Leather Coasters will absorb moisture and show marks with use. But over time, the many watermarks will come together in a really beautiful pattern. You can spray the coasters with a waterproofing spray if you want to keep the light colour for longer - but don't get too attached to it as even ambient sunlight will darken this leather into a nice patina.

Edges are beveled and left raw. The set of 4 coasters come in a linen drawstring bag.

The Story Behind It

I.E. Francis is the creation of Isaac Francis, a Melbourne-based industrial designer and ex-boot-maker. He believes in a minimalist aesthetic, simple functionality, and the longevity and beauty that comes with premium materials.

Isaac goes to great lengths to ensure his manufacturing materials are sourced locally whenever possible. I.E. Francis mainly uses premium vegetable-tanned kangaroo leather from a tannery in Sydney, selected for its toughness, beautiful finish and abundant local supply. For almost five years, Isaac has designed and hand-manufactured high quality, minimalist leather small goods in-house.
