About Kandila Co.

Kandila was founded by Janice, a first-generation Australian who heralds from the Philippines. Although her and her husband have called Australia home for more than a decade, they constantly find themselves thinking about their less fortunate countrymen and the quality of lives that they live. Knowing that lack of access to education is one of the root causes for the endless cycle of poverty and marginalisation, not just in the Philippines but also in all developing nations, they are determined to contribute and help fight poverty at its core. And so Kandila Co. was born. 

Kandila Co. is a social enterprise that donates 50% of its profits to organisations that provide education to children in developing nations. Every year, they select an organisation registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profit Commission to support. As of May 2018, they've sponsored 21 kids for 3 consecutive years via their partner charity, The Australian Foundation for Fostering Learning in the Philippines. 

in 2018, Kandila chose to support Classroom of Hope, which will allow them to empower vulnerable girls and women from disadvantaged families to participate in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) studies in a 2-year tertiary vocational degree in educational institutions in Cambodia.
