3 Killer Cocktails to Make Your Weekend

There's no denying that 2021 has been as tough as 2020. And while we're pros at this lockdown stuff, we think it's time for a pick-me-up. So here's three of our favourite cocktails to make this weekend extra special.

Gin Ricky

Gingerfinch glassware

This chill cocktail is made up of gin, lime juice, and soda. F. Scott Fitzgerald was a fan of the revised Rickey, and he referenced it in a pivotal scene in The Great Gatsby. Though made popular during Prohibition, this cocktail dates back to the 1880s, when bartender George A. Williamson made it for Colonel Joe Rickey.

Ingredients

  • Gin
  • half a lime
  • club soda
  • (add a splash of syrup to make it a little sweeter - they liked their drinks tart in the Prohibition era!)

The Gin Ricky tastes even better when sipped out of our Diamond Highball! This stunning set of two highball cocktail glasses are essential for every gin-lover.

Sidecar

Gingerfinch glassware

This sweet but tangy classic will be your perfect summer-evening nightcap. The first recipe for the Sidecar was in 1922 - The Ritz Hotel in Paris takes credit for the drink, and it was certainly popular in France at that time.

Ingredients

  • 45ml cognac
  • 25ml orange liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • 25ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • Garnish with a sugar rim (optional)

Savour your Sidecar from our Martini Glass - not just for martinis, this glass is perfect for any short cocktail. Oh, and they make gorgeous water glasses, too!

Cosmopolitan

Gingerfinch glassware

Made iconic by 'Sex and the City', the Cosmo brings back 90s vibes and - let's face it - less stressful times. Perfect for Summer 2020!

Ingredients

  • 45ml Vodka
  • 15ml Cointreau
  • 30ml Cranberry Juice
  • Squeeze of Fresh Lime

Every homes needs a spectacular glass for special occasions. And why settle with a boring champagne glass when you could have our divine Diamond Coupe! It's perfect for sparkling wine, of course, but you'll find oh so many uses - making every moment a little more special.
